Below you will find common tasks and activities performed by Employees, Managers, and Initiators in OneUSG Connect listed by module. Benefits How do I see my benefits selections? In Employee Self-Service select 'Benefits' to see your selections.
For Health and Welfare benefits select the 'Manage My Benefits' tile.
For Retirement, including ORP, 403, and 457 Plans, select the 'Retirement@Work' tile.
Benefits How do I request FMLA? Extended leave will be requested through Employee Self-Service. Under the 'Time and Absence' tile, there is a link to Extended Absence Request.
Careers How do I apply for a job at Georgia Tech? Current employees can access the internal Careers site via: Employee Self-Service. Select 'Recruiting Self-Service' and then 'Apply for Jobs'. External applicants will access the external Careers site via forthcoming link on the GTHR site.
Careers How can I find applications in Careers? Hiring Managers will view applications for their openings via: Manager Self-Service, and will then select the 'Open Jobs' tile.
Careers How do I post an Open Rank Faculty position? Consult with your departmental HR to decide on a job title. Obtain Position Management and Critical Hire approval, if necessary. Create the job opening and include Open Rank verbiage in the job posting.
Careers How will I find job openings? Current employees can access the internal Careers site via: Employee Self-Service. Select 'Recruiting Self-Service' and then 'Apply for Jobs'. External applicants will access the external Careers site via forthcoming link on the GTHR site.
Careers How will I post a job opening? Consult with your departmental HR to decide on a job title. Obtain Position Management and Critical Hire approval, if necessary. Create the job opening and posting.
Careers How will I manage applicants for job openings? Hiring Managers will view applications for their openings via Manager Self-Service 'Open Jobs' tile. Using icons on the applicant dashboard, managers can reject, route, interview, and prepare offers for applicants.
Careers How do I hire someone for a vacant position, now and after the critical hire process? Consult with your departmental HR. Obtain Position Management and Critical Hire approval, if necessary. Create the job opening and posting. Screen, interview, and select a candidate. The selected candidate will undergo a background check and complete onboarding before being hired.
Careers How will I submit background checks? Managers will select the necessary background checks when creating the job opening. These checks will be vetted and initiated by GTHR Talent Acquisition following offer acceptance by the candidate. The candidate will receive an email from the background check vendor to complete information online to initiate the background check process.
Commitment Accounting How will I process Commitment Accounting changes? Change Position Funding Transaction (future pay period) or Express Direct Retro Transaction (past pay period)
Employee Self-Service How will employees update their education in the system? Within the 'Degrees and Certifications' tile on the Employee Self-Service page.
Employee Self-Service How will employees who are no longer with GT access their previous pay stubs or W2's? Former employees have access to TechWorks for 24 months after leaving GT. They will retain this access and be able to use the legacy data link.
Employee Self-Service How do I update personal info? Personal information updates can made by accessing the Employee Self-Service page.
Employee Self-Service How do I update Federal/State Withholding? This can be done by selecting the 'Taxes' on the Employee Self-Service page. Foreign National employees who are nonresidents should contact their departmental HR.
Employee Self-Service How do I update voluntary deductions? This can be done by selecting the 'Voluntary Deductions' tile on the Employee Self-Service page.
Employee Self-Service How do I view paycheck stubs? This can be done by selecting the 'Pay' tile on the Employee Self-Service page.
Employee Self-Service How do I view vacation/sick accrual? In OneUSG Connect, absence balances will be visible through Employee Self-Service. Under the 'Time and Absence' tile, there is a link to 'Absence Balances'.
Employee Self-Service How do I view W-2s? Historical W2s can be viewed through the legacy link on TechWorks. New W2s will be available in the future in Employee Self-Service.
Employee Self-Service How do I manage my direct deposit information? In Employee Self-Service, select the 'Direct Deposit' tile. Then select the 'Add Account' option to create a new direct deposit account. Edit to change an existing account, or 'delete' to remove the account.
Faculty Data How can I enter packages in GT Tracs? Contact Faculty Affairs for guidance.
Faculty Data How can I view a faculty member's tenure status, including the year they received tenure? This information can be accessed via the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). Additionally, there is a report in Manager Self-Service to view 'on track' Faculty.
Faculty Data How do I view faculty contract statuses to verify 9 month or 12 month contracts? Job data will show if a faculty member is fiscal-12 month (03Y paygroup) or academic-10 month (03F)
Faculty Data Where do I go to see if a professor is up for promotion/tenure review or periodic peer review? This information can be accessed via the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
Faculty Data How do I go about hiring a research faculty position? Consult with your departmental HR to decide on a job title. Obtain Position Management and Critical Hire approval, if necessary. Create the job opening and posting. Screen, interview, and select a candidate. For Foreign National candidates, consult Global HR. Obtain approval of the offer via GT-TRACS.
General How will I look up GTID #/Request GTID #? GTID #s will be auto generated and emailed to New Hires following electronic onboarding. You can look up a GTID # at: https://gtid-lookup.gatech.edu/
Manager Self-Service How will I process a hire (PSF replacement process)? Most hires will be done through Careers; however, there is a tiered approach to some populations which will go through the Direct Hire form, in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How will I submit an equity/market increase to change an employees job title and salary? Consult with your departmental HR. This action is initiated though the 'My Team' tile in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How do I process employee retirements? This action is initiated though the 'My Team' tile in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How do I process extra compensation? Consult with your departmental HR. This action is initiated though Multiple Components of Pay (ex. Supplemental Pay) in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How do I process RBW hires? This is done through the Direct Hire form in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How do I process reclassifications? Consult with your departmental HR. This action is initiated though the 'My Team' tile in Manager Self-Service.
Manager Self-Service How do I respond to an employee's approved request to reduce their percent time to 80%? Percent time can be changed by updating position information.
Manager Self-Service How do I correct my Org chart/direct reports? For corrections, submit a ticket to the Shared Services Center. For new changes or updates, consult with your departmental HR.
Manager Self-Service How do I request new position numbers? This can be done through the 'Position Management' tile in Manager Self-Service.
